The life of Michael T. Bereheiko, 26, of Green Brook, is being remembered with sadness and heartfelt condolences after a tragic boating accident on Barnegat Bay claimed his life late Saturday night. Friends, family, and loved ones are mourning the sudden loss of a young man whose life was cut short in a devastating incident that also left others injured.

 

According to authorities, the crash happened at approximately 10:56 p.m. when a 32-foot Boston Whaler traveling through the Intracoastal Waterway struck a channel marker. Following the collision, the boat’s operator, Kevin Wells, 39, of Warren, guided the damaged vessel to a residence on Silver Lagoon Drive in Toms River Township, where emergency crews arrived to provide assistance.

 

Michael was a passenger aboard the vessel and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Two other passengers suffered serious injuries and were also taken for medical treatment, while another passenger sustained minor injuries.

 

As investigators continue looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash, those who knew Michael are left grieving the heartbreaking loss of a cherished son, friend, and loved one. His memory will live on through the people whose lives he touched and the moments they shared together.
