The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kyrsten Sovereign, a vibrant 23-year-old whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Hunt Highway in the San Tan Valley area of Arizona. As her loved ones grieve an unimaginable loss, authorities have confirmed that Dave Gilbert Loescher, 58, of Florence, has been arrested in connection with the crash and is expected to face multiple felony charges for allegedly leaving the scene after the collision.
The devastating crash occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Friday, July 10, between Arizona Farms Road and Magma Road. Kyrsten suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased, while three other victims were transported to Valley hospitals. According to investigators, two were listed in stable condition and one remained in critical condition.
Detectives worked tirelessly to identify the driver responsible. Although the suspect vehicle was initially believed to be a black Ford pickup, investigators later determined it was a 2024 dark blue Nissan Titan Platinum Edition. Using license plate reader technology, along with valuable tips from community members and widespread media attention, detectives successfully located the vehicle and arrested the suspect the following day.
Sheriff Ross Teeple extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, thanking the community, the media, and investigators whose combined efforts helped bring the case forward so quickly.
While the legal process now moves ahead, the greatest focus remains on remembering Kyrsten Sovereign. She will be cherished for the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she leaves behind. May her family and friends find strength in one another during this difficult time, and may Kyrsten’s beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. She will never be forgotten, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
