The Canton community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Erin R. Stevens, a 30-year-old woman from Alliance whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating two-vehicle crash in Canton, Ohio. Erin’s passing has left her family, friends, and everyone who knew her overwhelmed with grief as they struggle to come to terms with such an unexpected tragedy. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
According to the Canton Police Department, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:27 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and Harmont Avenue NE. Investigators said Erin was driving a 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage westbound on Route 62 and was attempting to turn south onto Harmont Avenue NE when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.
The impact of the collision was catastrophic, forcing both vehicles into the southeast corner of the intersection. The Silverado overturned, while Erin became trapped inside her severely damaged vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. Both drivers were rushed to Aultman Hospital, where the Silverado driver was treated and later released. Despite every effort by medical personnel, Erin sadly succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, police believe speed was not a contributing factor, and it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played any role in the incident.
As loved ones grieve this unimaginable loss, they remember Erin R. Stevens for the life she lived, the kindness she shared, and the memories she created with those closest to her. May her family find strength in one another during this painful time, and may Erin’s beautiful soul rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and never forgotten.
