The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kenneth Glasser, 74, of Scott City, Missouri, who tragically lost his life following a devastating three-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau on Friday, July 17, 2026. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and everyone who knew him grieving the loss of a man whose life touched many. As loved ones struggle to come to terms with this tragedy, they remember Kenneth not for the circumstances of his death, but for the kindness, strength, and memories he shared throughout his life.

According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 11:57 a.m. near the 96 southbound mile marker on Interstate 55. Traffic had come to a complete stop because of road construction when Kenneth’s 2015 Chrysler Town and Country, which was pulling a homemade utility trailer carrying a riding lawn mower, collided with the rear of a stopped 2023 Ford F-150. The impact pushed the Ford into a 2015 Dodge Ram, causing severe damage to the vehicles involved.

Emergency responders rushed Kenneth to a nearby hospital, where despite every effort to save him, he sadly succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the collision. The drivers of the other two vehicles, Mark Owens, 59, of Jackson, and Kelby Newell, 21, of Friedheim, were not injured.

As the Cape Girardeau Police Department’s reconstruction team continues investigating the crash, Kenneth’s family is left mourning an irreplaceable loss. His passing serves as a painful reminder of how quickly life can change in a single moment. May Kenneth Glasser be remembered with love, honor, and gratitude, and may his memory forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. Rest in eternal peace.
