Carthage Motorcyclist Damon S. Intorcia Killed in Crash on State Route 3

Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Carthage man after he lost control of his motorcycle along State Route 3.

According to the preliminary investigation, Damon S. Intorcia, 21, of Carthage, was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on State Route 3 when the crash occurred.

Investigators said Intorcia exited the north shoulder of the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation. The motorcycle then struck a guide wire, causing him to be ejected from the bike.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of the crash. Despite lifesaving efforts, Intorcia died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and have not released additional details regarding what may have caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
