The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Joseph Langham, 32, of Akron, Ohio, who died following a tragic motorcycle crash Friday afternoon in Ashtabula County. Joseph’s life came to an unexpected end after a collision at the intersection of US Route 6 and State Route 46 in New Lyme Township, leaving family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Ashtabula Post, the crash happened around 5:24 p.m. when Joseph was riding a 2023 Yamaha MT-09 motorcycle southbound on State Route 46. Investigators said the motorcycle collided with a westbound 2022 Ford F-450 operated by Ryan Estep, 42, of Thompson, after Joseph failed to yield the right of way at the intersection.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and Joseph was transported by South Central Ambulance with plans to fly him by helicopter to University Hospitals. Sadly, he passed away from his injuries before the helicopter could take off.
At the time of the crash, Joseph was wearing a helmet, and authorities said drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been contributing factors. The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the collision.
