The heartbreaking loss of Kristin Delaney, 46, of Mobile, has left family, friends, and the Gulf Coast community mourning a life taken far too soon. Kristin was critically injured in a devastating two-vessel collision on the Intracoastal Waterway near Wolf Bay in Orange Beach on the evening of July 18. Despite the determined efforts of first responders and medical teams, she was transported to South Baldwin Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced deceased. Her passing has brought profound sorrow to all who knew and loved her.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. when a 27-foot 2024 Albury Brothers vessel, on which Kristin was a passenger, collided with a 23-foot 2013 Key West vessel operated by Cameron Neil, 32, of Houma, Louisiana. Kristin’s fellow passenger, Brooks Delaney, 51, of Fairhope, was also injured and transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for treatment. The Albury Brothers vessel was operated by Drew Delaney, 49, of Mobile, and carried eight people in total.
Several occupants aboard the Key West vessel, including Cameron Neil and passengers Talyn Faulkner, John Lyle, and Rayford Reeves, also sustained injuries and were transported for medical care. Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded swiftly, with nine patients taken to area hospitals as firefighters, ambulance personnel, and a medical helicopter worked tirelessly to assist those involved.
As ALEA’s Marine Unit continues to investigate the cause of the collision, loved ones are remembering Kristin for the beautiful life she lived rather than the tragedy that claimed it. She will be cherished for the kindness she shared, the love she gave so freely, and the lasting memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her.
