The Kalamazoo community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Eric Phillips, affectionately known to many as “Hunnid Block Rambo,” whose life was tragically cut short following a fatal stabbing in Oshtemo Township on July 16, 2026. At just 34 years old, Eric’s passing has left family, friends, and everyone who knew him grieving an unimaginable loss.

According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a stabbing report in the 1300 block of Mt. Royal Drive during the early morning hours. Eric was found suffering from at least one stab wound and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died despite the determined efforts of medical personnel to save his life. A 27-year-old suspect was arrested, and the case remains under active homicide investigation.

As loved ones struggle to come to terms with this tragedy, many are choosing to remember Eric not for the circumstances of his passing, but for the life he lived.
