TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Sugarcreek community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Marcus Miller, a 26-year-old motorcyclist from Sugarcreek, who was killed Saturday morning in a devastating three-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:37 a.m. on State Route 39 at the intersection with County Road 77 (Prysi Road) in Sugarcreek Township. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving family, friends, and loved ones grieving the loss of a young life cut tragically short.
Investigators said Miller was riding a black 2011 Kawasaki EX250 motorcycle westbound on State Route 39 when a red 2016 Mazda CX-5, driven by 84-year-old Martha Egan of Dover, attempted to make a left turn onto County Road 77. The motorcycle struck the right side of the Mazda before sliding across the center line and colliding with the left front of an eastbound white 2023 Nissan Rogue driven by Tiffany Ervin, 49, of Coshocton.
Authorities confirmed that Miller was wearing both a helmet and protective riding gear at the time of the crash. Egan, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. Ervin and her passenger were also properly restrained and escaped without injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s New Philadelphia Post continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Multiple agencies, including the Sugarcreek Police and Fire Departments, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Rosenberry Towing, and the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, assisted at the scene.
As the investigation continues, the Sugarcreek community remembers Marcus Miller and extends heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. His tragic passing serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of caution and awareness on Ohio’s roadways.
