The Zimmerman community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Brayden Grunzke, an 18-year-old whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating crash on Highway 169 in Elk River on the morning of Wednesday, July 29. His untimely passing has left family, friends, classmates, and neighbors grieving the loss of a young man whose future held endless promise. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. when Brayden was driving his Mitsubishi Lancer southbound on Highway 169. A northbound dump truck, operated by 64-year-old Kenneth Lynch of Rockford, was attempting to turn west onto 221st Avenue NW when the two vehicles collided. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Brayden succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash. The dump truck driver was not injured.
