Evergreen Tragedy: Minnesota State Patrol Identifies Debra Carlson as Victim in Fatal Semi Crash.

A tragic late-night crash in Evergreen Township, Minnesota, has claimed the life of 62-year-old Debra Carlson of Menahga, leaving her family, friends, and community mourning a heartbreaking loss. The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed Carlson’s identity following the fatal collision that occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday along U.S. Highway 87, east of Frazee.

 

According to investigators, Carlson was driving her SUV westbound on the highway when it struck a semi-trailer that was backing into a residence on the north side of the roadway. Authorities said the SUV traveled underneath the trailer, resulting in catastrophic injuries. Sadly, Carlson was pronounced dead at the scene despite the response of emergency personnel.

 

The driver of the semi, a resident of Frazee, was not injured in the crash. Investigators also stated that alcohol is not believed to have been a factor, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation as officials work to determine exactly what happened.

 

Several agencies responded to the scene, including the Detroit Lakes, Wolf Lake, and Frazee Fire Departments, the Frazee Police Department, and the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, all assisting the Minnesota State Patrol with the emergency response and investigation.
