The Knott County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Melissa Slone, 39, of Garner, Kentucky, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal single-vehicle crash during the early morning hours of July 17, 2026. The impact caused the truck to lose control and overturn, ejecting her from the vehicle. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by the Knott County Coroner’s Office.
