The Yuma community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Amarilis A. Jimenez de Burnett, 54, whose life was tragically cut short following a two-vehicle collision on the morning of July 29, 2026. According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of West County 14th Street and South Fourth Avenue. Investigators reported that a 2009 Honda Fit Sport, driven by Amarilis A. Jimenez de Burnett, entered the intersection and collided with a westbound 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk after allegedly failing to stop at a posted stop sign. Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported both drivers to Onvida Health for treatment.
