Man Found Dead in Swimming Pool at Brockton Home Identified; Authorities Believe Drowning Was Cause of Death

A 31-year-old man who was found unresponsive in a residential swimming pool in Brockton on Monday morning is believed to have drowned, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as officials await the final determination from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The deceased has been identified as Louis-Mond Augustin, 31.

Emergency Response

The investigation began after emergency dispatchers received a 911 call reporting that a man was floating in a swimming pool at a home located at 54 Michael Drive in Brockton.

First responders were immediately dispatched to the residence, where they discovered Augustin unresponsive in the pool. Despite their response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials reported that there were no obvious or suspicious signs of physical trauma on Augustin’s body when he was recovered from the water, leading investigators to initially believe that drowning was the cause of death.
