Our hearts are with Nohe Salazarmartinez, 32, of Patterson, California, as he continues to recover from the devastating injuries he suffered in a tragic crash that occurred on the evening of July 16 near the intersection of Paradise and Shiloh Roads, west of Modesto.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 7 p.m. when a 2026 Rivian SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Shiloh Road and collided with a westbound 2004 Toyota pickup. The violent impact claimed the life of the Toyota’s 29-year-old driver, whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members. Nohe, who was a passenger in the pickup, sustained major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
The teenage driver of the Rivian and passenger Carmen Borquezdefelix suffered minor injuries. Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
