The Bridge City community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Gabino Carranza, 67, who passed away following a tragic crash outside his home early Thursday morning. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Carranza was sitting inside his parked Dodge Caravan when a 2020 Ford pickup truck, driven by 69-year-old Michael Heimbach of Orange, traveled through the intersection of State Highway 87 and State Highway 62, entered a private driveway, and crashed into the minivan, pushing it into a nearby residence. Gabino was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The sudden tragedy has left family, friends, and neighbors heartbroken as they come to terms with the unexpected loss of a beloved member of the community. A routine morning turned into an unimaginable event, forever changing the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Authorities also reported that a 61-year-old woman inside the residence suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
