The Batavia community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Robert Dinka, 47, of Batavia, who tragically lost his life following a devastating motorcycle crash on the night of Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Stonelick Township, Clermont County. As family and friends grieve this tremendous loss, prayers continue for Jennifer Birchfield, 41, of Mt. Orab, who suffered serious injuries in the same crash and remains in recovery.
According to the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:06 p.m. on U.S. Route 50 near milepost 9. Preliminary findings indicate that Robert Dinka was operating a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide eastbound with Jennifer Birchfield as his passenger when the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.
Despite emergency responders’ efforts, Robert Dinka sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Jennifer Birchfield was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Stonelick Township Fire Department and EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Clermont County Coroner’s Office, and Tarvin’s Towing. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As the investigation moves forward, the community remembers Robert Dinka for the life he lived and the memories he created with those who loved him. May his family find comfort, Jennifer Birchfield experience a full recovery, and everyone affected by this tragedy find strength and peace in the difficult days ahead.
