A profound sense of grief has settled over the families and friends of Clarissa Nunez, 43, and Diamantina Martinez, 68, of Corpus Christi, whose lives were tragically cut short in a fatal crash in Burleson County, Texas. Their unexpected passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of everyone who knew them, as loved ones remember two women whose lives were filled with love, compassion, and devotion to their families.
The tragic collision occurred Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 36 and FM 60. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Clarissa was driving a 2014 Kia Optima and was attempting to turn left from FM 60 when the vehicle was struck by a northbound 2020 Ford F-250 traveling on SH 36. The impact was catastrophic, and both Clarissa and Diamantina suffered fatal injuries, passing away at the scene.
The heartbreaking accident also seriously injured two young children riding in the Kia—an eight-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy. They were transported to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple, where they continue receiving medical care. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford pickup and two passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to St. Joseph Health in Bryan.
