A heartbreaking discovery was made at Lake Waco after authorities found Shane Albright, a 27-year-old Waco man who had been reported missing, deceased at Koehne Park. The search for Shane, which had brought concern and hope among his family and friends, came to a tragic end when emergency crews recovered his body from the water.
According to information shared in the missing-person alert, Shane was last seen on July 25, 2026, in Waco, Texas, as he was leaving for work around 10:30 a.m. near the 9900 block of Ridings Drive. His family reported that he did not arrive at work and had not contacted anyone, prompting efforts to locate him and bring him home safely.
Shane was described as 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 145 pounds, with brown eyes and long dark brown hair. At the time he was last seen, he was reportedly wearing a gray AutoZone work shirt and black pants. He was also believed to have been driving a unique black 2003 Saturn Ion sedan with a red rear spoiler and distinctive body graphics.
On Tuesday morning, Waco police officers responded to Koehne Park around 8:32 a.m. after receiving reports of a person found floating in Lake Waco. Officers, along with the Waco Fire Department, Texas Game Wardens, and AMR personnel, worked together to recover the man from the water. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Shane Albright’s death. As the community mourns, family members and friends are left with grief while waiting for answers about what led to the tragic loss of a young life.
