The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jackson Lee Hall, 61, affectionately known by many as “Action Jackson.” Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Hunter Forbes has confirmed that Hall has passed away following a tragic crash on Interstate 59 South near the Ellisville–Highway 11 exit. His passing has left friends, neighbors, and countless community members reflecting on the life of a man whose familiar presence became a part of everyday life.

According to authorities, Hall was struck by a semi-truck on Monday morning and was rushed to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg in critical condition. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Although Jackson faced the hardships of homelessness, he was much more than the circumstances he endured. Known throughout the area as “Action Jackson,” he was recognized by his warm personality, resilient spirit, and the friendly conversations he shared with people from all walks of life. His name became familiar to many who crossed his path, and his presence left a lasting impression on the Ellisville community.
